PAN Application

A permanent account number (PAN) is a ten-character alphanumeric identifier, issued in the form of a laminated "PAN card", by the Indian Income Tax Department, to any "person" who applies for it or to whom the department allots the number without an application. A PAN is necessary for filing income tax returns

TAN Application

TAN stands for Tax Deduction and Collection Account Number. Under Section 203A of the Income Tax Department, it is mandatory to provide the TAN in all TDS returns and Challans while paying tax. So, TAN is the account number that is used to pay the tax, without having a TAN you can't pay the tax.

TDS Return

TDS Return is a quarterly statement submitted by the deductor to the Income Tax Department. The statement shows a summary of all the entries for TDS collected by the deductor and the TDS paid by the deductor to the Income Tax Authority.
